Tax Law Caucus

PURPOSE

The PLLIP-SIS Tax Law Caucus was formed in 2024 to foster communication and professional collaboration within the community of tax information professionals. Traditionally tax law libraries have had their own space within large law firms, accounting firms, and academic institutions. The professionals working within this environment are often deeply embedded within the practice, and over time they inevitably become experts in the field. This caucus will allow for the sharing of knowledge and experience to enhance the professional development of each member, and ultimately improve the level of service to their organization.

OBJECTIVES

  • Encourage law librarians and information professionals working directly within the field of tax law to become members of this caucus.
  • Leverage our collective knowledge of the tax law field by connecting and sharing with our peers across institutions.
  • Provide virtual educational programs focused on specific segments of tax legal research.
  • Assist one another to locate hard-to-find resources via digital or print interlibrary loan.
  • Share collection development policies and holdings information with our peers to create awareness and efficiency for those who must reduce their collections.
